Chapter 9
This chapter is quite informative, and though I already knew the majority of it, the most important thing it talks about I believe is that one should research their job market far before even considering applying for jobs. Making the switch from academia to real world is a big change in most industries. People should get a good idea of the differences between their field in academia and their field in action so they know how to make themselves appeal to possible employers. As a CS student we focused nonstop in school on coding, but in the real world people care more about your abilities as a team member than they do your skill set. This is because even the worst coder can be brought up to par, but you simply cannot teach someone to play well with others.
